Net vir julle kennisname - hier is die epos wat ek nou sopas terug gekry het van Mnr Sarel Venter ( SA 4X4 JAN 2010 NISSAN SA BRIEF VIR UITMUTENDE KLIENTE DIENS). Oom Mac het ook in een van sy postings verwys na hierdie brief!!!

Ja jy kan my sekerlik as verwysing gebruik.
Ek wil net weer sê dat ek baie dankbaar teenoor Nissan is aangesien ek heeltemal onbewus was van enige probleme met hulle bakkies, nogtans het hulle uit hulle eie my bakkie herstel. ( Ek was oorgehaal om dit self te doen ). Soos ek verstaan was daar n “campaign” om die spesifieke modelle te herstel tot en met Nov. 2009 indien hulle breek. Myne het 170000 km op gehad wat ek dink alreeds baie vir n voertuig is aangesien dit die meeste km is wat ek nog ooit op n voertuig gehad het.
My voertuig het ook nooit warm geword nie, ook n gat in n “piston” gebrand en 2 ander was gekraak.
Hoop dit help jou,

Dankie Pieter - Sarel .. Ironie, Agarob het in OKTOBER 2009 gatte in sy silinders gebrand as gevolg van 'over fuelling" [die "hand granade effect" waarna verwys word - ] - 'n hel emaqaqnd voor die 'campiagn' se einde in November ...
Maar op die lange duur gaan Nissan se sleepvoetende houding oor hierdie 3.0 engines hulle nog duur te staan kom. [en lange duur is nie noodwendig jare nie ... ]

Thanks Ross - much appreciated - seems like you are the only who actually picked up on my posting!!!
But much to my dissapointment I have already failed my first test. I found a complete Nissan TD4.2T engine at Engines for Africa in Johannesburg - had it courier all the way to Cape Town only to find out this weekend that it is a 24V engine!!!
I had quite a fight today with them about this - and will most probably end up returning it to them because it will be quite a costly excercise to have it changed to a 12V motor - the alternator and starter needs to be replaced - and this engine's vacuum pump is located on the alternator. Apparently you do get 12V alternators with vacuum pumps equipped - but they are quite costly.
For what its worth - this is a pic of the engine currently here




Hopefully they will come to the party - otherwise I am sitting with my thumb where I don't want it!!

Ok - miskien moet ek leer om n wag voor my mond te sit - anders gaan Frans my ook nog een van die dae slaan!!!
Hy het n paar contacts wat glo ons gaan die 24V probleem kan oorbrug - so ek gaan nou my bek hou en stil bly voor ek n pak slae kry by Frans - ek weet te min van die goed af en ek laat toe dat ander mense my "bang" praat!!!

Ok so hier is my final skrywe aan Nissan SA - hiervandaan gaan ek oorgaan na ander aksies - ek is nou moeg gepraat en gewag.
Hierdie epos is aan Jacques Labotsky, Coreen Nagel en Tony Minnie gestuur gisteroggend 06h00. Kom ons kyk of hulle hulself werdig om iets te antwoord:
Dear Mr Labotsky,
Your email dated 18 May 2010, my return communication dated the same and your follow-up email dated 21 May has reference.
It has now almost been two weeks and yet to date I have had no response from Nissan SA. With all due respect Mr Labotsky but I cannot foresee what the hold up is or could be and honestly do not think that the time period lapsed is justified with no response from you. I thus hereby wish to inform you the following:
I hereby give Nissan SA 5 (five) working days from date (Mon 31 May 2010) of this electronic communication to return to me in written communication their official and final response regarding the matter of my blown engine on my 2002 3.0l ZD30 Patrol GRX. Should you fail to respond I reserve the right to take the matter further through channels that are available to consumers / customers which include but will not be limited to legal action. Once the 5 (five) working day period has lapsed I will not enter into further communication with Nissan SA nor will I accept any communication from them. Should I proceed with legal action an application will be made at court for the allocation of my legal costs on an attorney / client scale for Nissan SA's account. I also reserve the right to, after the five day period, continue with the repairs and or replacement of my vehicle's engine through whichever channel I see fit and cost effective, in which case such costs will also form part of any legal proceedings against Nissan SA.
This matter has been ongoing since 25 March 2010 when it was first reported to Marietjie Pengilly at your customer service department and I am of opinion that more than ample time has been allowed for Nissan SA to take a final decision on this matter.

Sterkte ... vir ons altwee Pieter. Jy het ten mionste iets van Labotsky [Of Lobowski?] gehoor [gelees - ek het nooit eens antwoord gekry nie.
Ek hte vertroue in ons prokureur - sy het SAC een oproep gegee en nou doen hulle di eenjin oor [at no extra cost to me]
All erkenning aan Gerhard om die saak so te beredder - maar mens raak vuisvoos geblxm deur net mooi almal in die motor handel
Ek het alweer die laaste paar dae selfde stelle met ander dealers afgetrap. Trailer wat nie klaarkom nie, karavaan alweer terug want tot di enaweek was niks van di eversoieke gedoen nie. Lobo moes Vrydag klaar wees, toe ek Maandag NM daar kom om hom af te haal .. toe staan hy nog wydsbeen oor 'n put met sy bek gapend wyd oop...

Baie dankie vir die aanbod - die ombouings word privaat maar by die persoon se perseel gedoen....so ek kan darem nou nie links en regs mense begin saam nooi vir "handjie" bysit nie. Maar nogmaals dankie vir die aanbod - miskien maak ons nog kennis iewers in die toekoms. Daar le so n paar "challenges" voor met die 4.2 conversion - maar Frans is n man wat weet wat hy doen en het n magdom van kontakte met kennis en "expertise" om alles gedoen te kry.
Dis net n kwessie van tyd.......
Ek dink nog aan n naam vir my conversion projek.....maar daar sal een van die dae fotos ens op die forum kom. Ons vorder goed en dinge begin nou meer glad verloop na al die "sourcing" van komponente ens uitgesorteer is.
