Re: '99 4.2D GL
Hi Everyone
Back in SA in 5 days and thought I'll re-post this ad. Last time I was in SA, I only spent about 3 days in Dec and a week in Jan in Cpt before I returned to Oz, so the Patrol was in full use. Not the best idea to try and sell a vehicle mid holiday with everything and the kitchen sink packed in it:)
If interested, here's a recap, but please also check the original post.
around 270000 km
engine is 100%, all services done (have heaps of invoices)
since owning it....new windscreen, rust removed around windscreen (professionally), personally treated body rust (pillars and gutters) and cleaned/anti rust chassis, diesel pump re-conned, new brake disks, new back OME shocks
extras are 3" lift, 33" tyres (50% wear), 15"mags, rock sliders, ARB bullbar, IPF spots, new head unit and speakers
Price, 60K

Keep you troll.
Take it to Charles Duckitt and have the rear made into a flatbed bakkie.
That will increase the value AND pleasure. You could turbo it but it is just too many hassles and way NOT worth the costs.

Wow, that looks great!

I must say I added a turbo, intercooler and boost aneroid and I haven't had any hassles at all. It works great! I would definitely do it again if I bought another normally aspirated diesel

Re: '99 4.2D GL
That's a seriously nice looking bakkie!! Main reason I want to sell the Patrol is that I get way too frustrated on the highways, specially when loaded. I'm sure putting money into this vehicle like a turbo, new roof or body swap or even like the bakkie shown here will turn it into a great Patrol, I just don't want to deal with a project at this stage.
