Recovery points
We're off to the Rust de WInter 4x4 Jamboree on Friday and tonight I noticed something that concerns me on the Patrol.
I always assumed it being a Patrol there would be decent recovery points but being preoccupied getting a list of issues to sort out I missed the obvious. This evening I removed the nudge bar because I don't see the point and realised where the nudge bar was affixed does not look strong enough for more than a tow. The metal seems more suited to a tie down point. On my Hardbody this tie down seems more substantial. On a forum mention is made of a tow hook on the chassis on the drivers side, but for the life of me I cannot find it.
If the Patrol does not come standard with decent recovery points, where can I source or have installed on short notice close to Centurion or Midrand?

Re: Recovery points
The Patrol should have a standard recovery point. Maybe somebody removed it.
Get a new one from Nissan, as there is nothing available aftermarket that is in the same league.

Re: Recovery points
I paid R765 for one, from Nissan dealership in Nelspruit about 3 years ago. At that stage some of the other dealerships where selling them for R680.
Not sure what they cost these days...

Re: Recovery points
Dang and blast. It seems the Nissan branches don't keep it in stock. If I order it it will take two days to arrive, just a little bit longer than I have.

Re: Recovery points
Thank you Fanus, a fine suggestion. If possible I'd prefer to not risk someone else's equipment but if I can't fit my recovery points tonight I'll definitely consider calling for help.
I managed to source a set of recovery points from the new 4x4 Megaworld in Centurion. If I can fit them tonight I should be sorted.

Re: Recovery points
Here it is.
If you think the Nissan one is the way to go, perhaps I should make a stop at your place. I can always use these ones at the back. I need an extra spot in the rear to attach the other competitors.
