Re: TD42 Rebuild
Below is a few pictures of the resizing of the conrod small ends to fit the new pistons. It is very interesting to see all the engineering work being done, for me that does not see this type of thing every day.
Hope it helps others as well.

Re: TD42 Rebuild
I am having a similar issue to how yours developed on my TD42 2.8 engine. Drama started with oil in the radiator- changed out the head gasket, but the situation has not improved at all. There was a very poor skimming job done on the head to start, and it was done badly again. My biggest snag is that I am in the arse-end of nowhere in Northwestern Zambia, with very little access to any decent mechanics/facilities that can do reconditioning etc of the head to determine if there is a problem with the head, or a speculated crack in the block (unlikely as I have had no overheating issues, unless there was something prior to my ownership).
To be honest, I am looking at changing out the entire engine and am looking for options and sources for something suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance. Hope you manage to sort your re-build without any issues, mate.
