Re: My GU 4.2 Turbo Diesel
Sorry to hear about the dramas on your troll Michael.
It just shows you how strong the TD42's are that it could take over 1 bar boost pressure for so long before this happened. At least the damaged was only on the top end and you didn't put a conrod through the block.
Just a thought, but since you've got it all apart and you're going through all the effort of balancing, etc.
Why don't you look at putting forged H-beam conrods in ?
Then you know you can throw big boost at it at a later stage and it will take it like a champ

Re: My GU 4.2 Turbo Diesel
Errol yes I was really hoping to get stuff ceramic coated, but its just to expensive at this stage. Looking at around 3k for the piston crowns and 2.5k for the precombustion chambers.
Dustin H beams are almost 9k so its also aout of my budget.
I do however think my current ones will be able to handle the power I am aming for, they are quite strong it seems

Re: My GU 4.2 Turbo Diesel

Re: My GU 4.2 Turbo Diesel
Eish Michael, nou maak jy my benoud! Michael wrote:... you cannot run 1 bar+ boost on N/A pistons...
As dinge dalk sou breek sal ek ook van daai frisser pistons insit, maar solank alles nog mooi aanhou werk ry ek hom net soos hy is...

Re: My GU 4.2 Turbo Diesel
