Raspberry pi carputer
Good day
This is my first post on this forum, glad to be here. Bought my first patrol a week ago, and my thoughts has been going wild about mods ever since.
My latest has been about replacing the radio. Mainly I would like Bluetooth but that is easily achievable by simply replacing the old one. Now what if I installed a raspberry pi mini computer with a touch screen. I would go on to modify and add to it, just a few to mention would be adding a dash cam, reversing camera aswell as possibly one at the rear of a trailer. It will handle all the entertainment. It will be able to monitor and control the dual battery system. Then what if I installed a second screen at the back and conected all the future camp lights I will have on it and possibly an air compressor . Then I can control everything from the front as well as in the back load bin. Then the navigation possibilities. You can add a gps module to it but at the moment I am not sure if I will be able to load tracks for Africa on it.
You can plug your external into it with endless music, play over Bluetooth with your phone. And if you have a newer vehicle with obd2 you can monitor all the vehicle statistics from it.
I would like to hear what you think of this. I have absolutely no idea how to integrate all of this into since I have no programming experience.
Here are some similar ideas:
