Donald, removing the pump is quite a job. Most GU's have the vacum pump under the injector pump which must be romoved first to access the bottom bolt of the pump.
Then its the front cover to get to the pump gear bolt......not very easy part and even harder when putting it back.
Setting the timing correctly you will need a dial gauge with adaptor that must be inserted into the rear of the pump where all the pipes connect.
I must say it helps if you have done it before.....
