Y61 front suspension Bushes / Parts

Post by PaulvdMerwe »

Good day all,

Been some time since I posted on the site,
I am still working hard at "collecting" all the parts to overhaul my ZD30. Going all the way now. (The expensive way)

In the mean time,
I have a number of Partol Y61 pick ups here in the karoo, they all more or less the same age and they are coming in for suspension repairs.

Surely there is a cheaper (than the agents ) supplier where I can get the following:
1. Swivel bearing & seal kits
2. Stabilizer connecting rods
3. Spring bumpers
4. Stabilizer rubbers

I know they are available from the agents but hope that you guys can point me to a cheaper alternative.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Happy troling

When you say swivel bearing and seal kits, are you talking about kingpin bearings, or the big wheel bearings and seals ( for the hubs in the swivel ball of the diff.... not sure how else to describe it )?
The kingpin bearings can be sourced easily from Bearing Man. If I recall there are no seals for the kingpin bearings. If its the wheel bearings, they can also be scoured, but the one bearing has a radius on that either needs to be machined on the outer race of the bearing, otherwise it will not seat properly in the hub. I think Peter Connan has the wheel bearing P/N's if I'm not mistaken

Stabilizer connecting rods.... or Swaybar links are agents only but if you have a load of them that need replacement, I would suggest making them up yourself, dead easy and will cost you a fraction of the price. Ball joints can be bought from guys like Bearing Man, fitted onto round bar cut at the same length with same fitting as where it fits to the chassis. I've been meaning to make myself a set for my Patrol for ages now.... just never gotten around to it.

Those spring bumpers....hmmm.... i think agents only

Stabilizer rubbers.... not sure

Hi Cedric,
Thanks for the reply,

Yes sorry the more known name is King pin Bearings.
They are easy to find, but the rubber seals around the "Ball" and also the small seal in the diff housing that prevents the oil from flowing from the diff to the hubs, that seals are always a problem to find.
Part numbers is not a problem, I have the Nissan EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue)

I was just hoping that those big bushes of the sway bar are available elsewhere.
Thanks

Speak to Marinus. He imports Terrain Tamer parts from OZ, and I am sure for a reasonable quantity can probably get all or most of those parts?
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Die kit is R3875 Incl VAT

Dit sluit al die wiel bearings en swivel bearings in vir links en regs en al die seels en wipers.

PM as jy belangstel. Ek het ongelukkig net die 1 kit.
