Ja. Ek het nie regtig die nodige kennis en ondervinding om so iets te reel nie. Maar ek werk daar aan. Hopelik in die nabye toekoms kan ons iets reel. :salute:

At the river trip, i suspected that my limited slip diff is not working the way it should. So i tested it yesterday.
Jacked both rear wheels up, engaged 4LR, put in 5th gear and turned one rear wheel forward, opposite wheel turned backwards... Does this mean that the LSD is not working?

Is it possible that incorrect diff oil and not proper lsd diff oil, can cause a LSD to not function properly?

I doubt the LsD would turn the engine in 4l. But what happens if you take it out of gear?

Wrong oil definately stops the LSD from working, but fortunately doesn't damage it.

What is the best way to test it: rear wheels in air, 4h or 4l engaged, out of gear?, turn one wheel forward, is opposite wheel suppose to turn in same direction if lsd is functional ?

The right way to test it is to jack up one wheel only, put the gearbox in neutral and put a torque wrench on the wheel that is in the air. Torque should be above 127Nm.

Well, the lsd definately does not work.
Jacked the one wheel up and tried to drive of the bricks. Wheel just spins in the air. Tested this in 2h, 4h & 4l.

Fanus, at 127Nm the LSD is not going to allow you to drive off a jack stand with one wheel in the air...

It is not a locker, it onle provides some friction.
