Set of headlights for GQ Patrol - urgent please!
Trollers!
Could you let me know where I could get me a set? |(One of my lenses is cracked and the other's reflector is peeling off.)
Googling showed that they should be 7" and the same as on certain Golfs, defenders, even cortinas?
Don't want to fork out too much, but will spend a bit more for better light output - mine currently have 55W H4's.
Apparently upgrading the relays help - bigger globes?
Appreciate any recommendations!
Cheers

Hi Tej
I replaced mine with a set of LED units I imported from the US that was made for the FJ Cruiser. Work very well. Try and look for a set of clear lenses and then get a set of 100W globes but definitely run them through relays. Visit some of the Landy shops as the defender uses the same size . 7:

Thanks for the chat Grant - whoa at R6500 for the set of the imported LEDs, I'm going to have to give 'em a skip!
I've heard talk of a set of Golf lights at Midas for R600 for a set - are such cheapies no good?

Replaced mine with that of a Golf one - clear and then bought a set of night breakers separately - from Midas, cost was less that R600.

Re: Set of headlights for GQ Patrol - urgent please!
That's a sweet looking Troll Dirk! Is that a custom front bumper?
Sure you needed to do some mods to get the lights to fit? Looks like you have to take off the grill and drill new holes into the brackets?
I see the original Hella lights are R300 at Goldwagen and the Autopal's are R150. I guess considering that these will be used off-road, better to get the better quality ones.
Thanks so much for the offer Peter - need to get the COR done ASAP though.

Re: Set of headlights for GQ Patrol - urgent please!
So ended up getting Autopal pirate golf 1 lights from dial a part for r250 for the set. Had to modify the light to fit the original bracket (breaking off edges and removing the adjustment screws) but fitted well in the end.
