Re: Wannabe Patrol 4.2 Pickup Owner...
Dit was n maatskappy/besigheid se bakkie.

Re: Wannabe Patrol 4.2 Pickup Owner...
Andersins, loop liewer weg.

Re: Wannabe Patrol 4.2 Pickup Owner...
Hey SJC.
I would either wait for a good Patrol with Factory turbo,... or
I would wait for a good N/A diesel (non turbo) Patrol as per factory.
With the Patrol pickup having being sold in Both Turbo, and NON Turbo, Both from Factory, in my eyes there is NO reason to justify buying an aftermarket retrofitted turbo on that 4.2
It just means you may need to hang 5 for a few weeks or so, ..they do come up, both derivatives, keep looking on gumtree and autotrader, or go into nissan and ask them who has one on their second hand floor,... okes must work for their money too.
Dont rush and get a lemon.

Re: Wannabe Patrol 4.2 Pickup Owner...
I'm no starting to wonder if I shouldnt rather get a Patrol "suv".
What is the difference between a 4.8 grx and a 4.8 gl?

Re: Wannabe Patrol 4.2 Pickup Owner...
What do you want to use it for?
The SUV is considerably more comfortable than the pickup, and arguably a lot better off-road (rear diff-lock, better departure angle and I suspect quite a lot more flex, especially when lightly loaded).
GRX has auto box, 7 seats, leather, climate control etc.
GL has a manual box, only 5 seats (although the last row can be fitted), air con and (I think) cloth seats.
Personally I prefer the GL, but the auto box is better (read "unbeatable") in sand. GL's are very scarce though, and not available anymore.

Re: Wannabe Patrol 4.2 Pickup Owner...
The vehicle would be my everyday drive. I would propably find more use for a bakkie than for the suv, although the suv is nice when you want to load family and friends and go for a drive..
I had my heart set on the patrol bakkie originally, but lack of decent models available has made me look at other options.
I took a 4.8 for a test drive on friday, what a vehicle. They advertised it as a 4.8 gl, but it got an auto box so must then be a glx? (http://www.autotrader.co.za/used-cars/n ... to-299-999)
Think i must just be patient.
What do you guys think of this patrol: http://www.automart.co.za/cars/for-sale ... id-1789986
Loads of exstras.
