Re: Radiator Cooling Fan
Last year my fan broke in the middle of Tansania and damaged a lot of pipes and cables. No chance to get a Nissan-fan somewhere.
I tested arround and found following solution in Mbeya:
A fan for an old Mitsubishi Pajero is very similar, but doesn't fit to the Nissan visco-clutch (right word for that?)
I had to replace the visco clutch too with the Mitsubishi one. Fits perfect to the waterpump. Price for the new fan and the used clutch: 700 Rand.
Of course this information is useless for you, because I have the 2.8TD engine, which nobody uses in SA.
But what I want to say: there are a lot of parts fitting from other japanese 4x4.

Re: Radiator Cooling Fan
Herr Frank, we may not have many 2.8 Diesels here in SA, but there are a few. This is still VERY valuable information !!!

Re: Radiator Cooling Fan
Did not measure outer diameter, i took off the original fan and put up against the new unit OD, Pitch and 7 Fin Blades exactly the same except the recess on the fastening point to viscous was 5mm more deeper than the original, the 5mm made no difference, at first i thought might touch radiator, but did not. If you really need diameter i can get a caliper tomorrow and measure, please let me know.Etienne Gous wrote:Good Job

Re: Radiator Cooling Fan
Tiny .. you carry on this way -- and I'll be your biggest fan [ ek is hoeka nie die kleinste inni groep nie ]
As pointed out -- LOTS of parts interchangable between the Jap vehicles
Also remeber -- in Aamrika they marketed the Patrol GQ as a FORD MAVERICK [only in Aamrika :-( ]
Even today lots of Forde / Mazd parts fit the Nissan as well .. [Etude brake pads for the Patrol GY etc etc ...]
