The arm I see on the right? Was that connected to the part that should be cable tied? Just unclip and leave it there?
Yip - remove the small circlip and washer. Disconnect the arm and replace circlip & washer. Turn the butterfly clockwise till closed and cable tie in place. There is not much space so long nose pliers help

My understanding is that when the butterfly closes it actually lengthens your intake duct which in turn provides more bottom end torque and when it is open you will have more top end power
Got it, thanks! Presumably then it would normally be closed anyway at idle and would open wide when overtaking under full throttle at high RPM ? Anyone know what it's normal behaviour would be?
No, the TB45E does not have any of this fancy variable induction tract mallarky . It is a good honest old fork lift engine .

Hi guys, I'm just about done burning off a full tank of juice on my first patrol, (didn't take long btw) and then wanna do this mod. On the aussie site they say something about a cable that needs to be disconnected. Is this a must, or optional? Don't really like the idea of having a loose cable hanging around in there...
