Clem,

I also decided to change all the wheel studs from a 1,25mm rh to a 1,5 mm rh. Nissan charge an earth for wheel nuts and 1,5mm is availabkle all over the country.

Grant, I am now sitting here and wondering whether my memory is starting to fail in my semi-old age. I seem to think that my vehicle has wheel bolts and not nuts – thus no studs either. (?)

Clem, I doubt that the design has changed.... may be wrong, but there should be 6 studs/bolts sticking out of the brake disk and on which you fasten on the wheel nuts when the wheel is on.

Hi Clem
Regarding you looking for extra rims & tyres the following is applicable:

Current wheel/tyre on the 4.8 standard from factory = 275X65X17
That gives you :
RR 394.65
Circumference 2479.66 mm

If you buy 16" rims and you fit 275X70X16 tyres
That gives you :
RR 395.7
Circumference 2486.25
And your speed will be 70.49 kmh against true speed of 70 kmh
The difference in circumference = 6.29 mm or 0.27%
I think that you then can use that tyre in case of emergency without damaging or harm to your transmission.
Remember PCD of 6x139.7 and center bore of 110 mm
The offset on Patrol is 30mm

Dankie Bekker. That is one more option!
