Clem, I havea GRX with a Bosal towbar fitted. Will have a look at the wiring and let you know. I hooked / scraped my towbar a couple of times and it is still looking good, was also thinking of cutting the lower bottom part off to get it higher of the ground.

PC, do you think I need to replace the bolts at some time?

I would strongly recommend replacing the bolts after a real snatch recovery.

Dawid, I would really appreciate that if you could. If you do find anything of interest, perhaps a picture would be helpful as well, if that is a possibility.

To be honest, I do not anticipate often being in situations where it will scrape but my plan is to only both the thing on when I actually need to go or alternatively, to remove the thing when I plan to do "real" off road work.

It turns out that, per the Australian websites, Nissan do make a plug-in trailer wiring harness for the GU series. I reckon that that option is probably better than slicing into the wiring harness.

Now the question is, which Nissan dealer has a switched on parts guy that is likely to be able to find the correct part number without too much drama? Any ideas?

Clem, speak to Adrean. He is the parts manager at Vredenburg Nissan. I used him to source parts for my GQ after Middelburg and Witbank Nissan said they can not help me. He got the parts and couriered it down to me. His e-mail adress is: parts.cfg1@lmgh.co.za
