Well "yes" and I haven't got another engine yet

One lead however looks positive, hope that container from Japan is arriving soon, thanks Peter (Connan) for the pointers.

Walter, it's only a pleasure, as you have helped me lots before.

However, the guy you really need to thank is Tinus Lotz. I was just messenger boy.

At the moment waiting for engine den to get that container in, it might slip into next year for action - unfortunately.
Any other leads welcome.

Partly resolved: In the market for a heart transplant - TB45

Post by Kalahari Safari »

Hi guys,

The engine is in and she is running again, albeit with a few niggles.

The workshop managed to damage the aircon condenser and failed to fix it, so I have to do it this side of the border.
What would you do when you give a job for an engine transplant to somebody and they stuff up your aircon system beyond repair but have the boldness to charge yo for regassing (on a ruptured radiator)?
Frankly, how do I get my ZAR's back for the damage done?

If it would have been a cheap jobby, then "yes" but I paid prime ($$$) R for the job and it was deducted from my account before I had a chance to inspect the vehicle, further some parts are still laying under the work bench in Jo'burg so I have to return (800 kms) to get the job completed.

Not naming the culprits yet, I give them a chance to sort it out, I hope they have 3rd party liability insurance for their workshop.

But what is your opinion on this?

I feel I've been taken for a ride

I agree you have been shafted, but I have no idea how to get your money back.

However, if the parts under the workbench can be found, I am sure one of the members of this forum would gladly cart them to bots for you on their next adventure?
