Some Good Fishing at Ponta!
I thought some of you might be interested in a few of my fishing pics from November at Ponta and Sodwana.
Went to OET comp at Sodwana and then took some Swedish friends to Ponta - more pics in following post.

Hi Chris
Impressive pics.
You should try that from a sea kayak, it is really exciting.

Hi Chris
Did you go via Piet Retief to get to the coast?
If so are the stop & go's still so bad?

Re: Some Good Fishing at Ponta!
The route via Ermelo, PietRetief, Pongola is much better than it was with only a couple of stops. If towing and with all the equipment, holiday groceries, drinks etc, I would stick to that route rather than Swaziland. You never know when you may pick up a nosey customs guy when enetering Sz or ZA again. If not worried about that part of it - then the Sz road is very good indeed and a nice drive. If you end up at a border post just behind a tour bus then expect to wait up to and hour to get through...
The road from Jozini to Kosi is mostly resurfaced and is excellent, except for a small section after the dam wall
Later this month going back to Ponta and will go pietretief, pongol, jozini route again.

Re: Some Good Fishing at Ponta!
Hi Peter, I have done the route through Swazi and picked up an official at the border post that gave me a 2 hour run around...
From what I have heard, this was a very isolated case. But I am not prepared to try my luck again.
@ Chris, thanks!
I went through there in Feb and was unaware of the workings through Bethal and Ermelo and managed to do this section at 03:00am.
NOT FUN.
I came home via Amsterdam/Carolina and although it was slightly longer was a MUCH easier drive.
I will be going down early Feb and will try the normal route through Bethal Ermelo to Piet Retief down to Manguzi.
Stop and go's are k@k, but at least you have to slow down and take it easy.
Thanks for the replies Gents!
