No problem. No fights here, just discussions.Peter Connan wrote:Gerrit I don't want to pick a fight here
Very, very impressive. What vehicle were they on and in what application? What I am getting at is that tyre life depends heavily on the way they are used and also to some extent on the weight and suspension design of the vehicle they are fitted to. I know of several people who have only achieved 60000 km or so on BFG A/Ts and that was in overlanding use.Peter Connan wrote:...but a buddy of mine recently managed 160 000 km on a set of BF A/T's?
That sounds like good mileage in a hard and heavy application. Has he tried A/Ts and how did they do under the same conditions?Peter Connan wrote:I have a friend who operates 3 Safari bakkies and a Patrol bakkie. His business is testing boreholes and therefore he lugs heavy equipment over rough terrain all the time. He uses 33"BF MT's virtually exclusively because of the grip, but he reckons you have to look after them all the time or they get "nobbly" and he doesn't get more than 50 000 km from a set.
