I would like to see them.

Unfortunately the TD42 is just about the most sought-after (and thus expensive) engine of the lot (Patrol-wise anyway). Pity the block was left under a tree to rust.

It would probably be cheaper to fit a TB48. It would definitely be a lot cheaper to fit a TB42 or TB45.
The TB42, TB45 and TD42 all use the same mounting points, same clutch and same gearbox bolting. So it's literally radiator (which is probably due for replacement anyway), exhaust (same same) and wiring (and if TB45 or 48 also some sort of management system) and fuel piping and so forth.

If you are serious about finding a TD42, speak to Michael Steyn at Sojo Aotomotive.
Another option is to sell what's left, possibly to David Volschenk, and put that money toward a runner.

I second what Peter said, would also like to see it.

It is a pity the engine parts were left in the elements. Maybe there are still something to salvage.

If i remember correctly Michael bought a gq pickup to fix / build a shop truck , but its quite a while ago. I can't remember that i saw how it turned out in the end.

Understand the popularity of the engine and cost
What about a low mileage Japanese import ?

Computer had a wobble so took some time to sort that out
Will transfer photos from camera and edit and post some time this week hopefully

I found a really good Ozzie YouTube channel where the guy goes through a full build up an NA TD4.2 and using the correct parts to convert to a Turbo engine
I imagine the necessary parts here would be - unobtanium / unaffordable
