Slightly ot, but what is the purpose of the vacume pipe here by the distributor?
Noticed that mine was pinched by the distributor cap. Freed it but it still looks a bit squashed....

Fanus, I speak under correction, but I believe that that is the vacuum advance. This advances the timing depending on the vacuum present from the manifold and should be responsible for ensuring even firing throughout the rev-range. That said, I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable about this will be here shortly.
