Hi All
Just an update on the fuel consumption during my recent trip to Durban.
Firstly I have not done de-cat yet. I will have to talk to people at Viper when I am free. Secondly, this is the first time I have driven my patrol fully loaded (i.e. Ikamper, FR awning, 50 lt water, fridge etc) and not towing my off road trailer in all these years
. This was a test run as I am planning a 15 day trip to Cape and Western Cape in August.
On my way to Durban, open road I have recorded 6.5 km/lt per, around town I got 5.5 km/lt and on my way back I have recorded the same 6.5 km/lt. Driving speed was strictly between 100 to 110 km, so I tried to maintain the speedo may be 3 points above 2000.
Tire pressure was set to 2.8 bar (I don't know if I can go more) and ride comfort was much better when fully loaded I must say. Vehicle is still stock at least in the suspension department. With out all the goodies, I guess I can achieve more, but it's not my daily driver anyway.
I will talk to folks at Viper first to discuss if de-catting makes a difference in consumption.
