Christo, the Ignitor is a good mod and does make maintenance much simpler. Mine has done about 40-50k km without any problems. However, since I have just broken my head, I might be changing my engine for another. If you are prepared to wait a few weeks, to see if my plans work out, you can possibly have mine?

As for the altitude compensator, it should be possible to make it run nicely at any specific altitude, but it might well run less well at a different altitude.

While the standard carb setup is perhaps a little complicated, it does work really well. I have achieved phenomenally good results on gas analysis with mine (even though my fuel consumption doesn't necessarily reflect that), it works very well at very steep angles in any direction, and also does well at widely varying altitudes.

I reckon, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

It might be a stupid question, but: is such a kit also available for the TB45 with distributor cap? Which one would it be?

TB45 has electronic ignition, even if it has a distributor Florian.
