There are two mouldings for the GU, both available from nissan. Inner moulding against body is most important, top moulding is a locking strip, can be reused if in good condition only.
approx R1300 for the soft inner moulding
approx R700 for the outer locking strip
The window spacers are not essential to keep the windcreen sealed at all, if the fitter knows what he's doing he'll space it and seal it, no issues at all.
I've had the leaks before, different reason, as well as the rust (often caused when they piano wire the old windscreen out), but also from old/perished/worn/torn inner seal (one that sits agaist the body of the vehicle).
Order original, and dont take shortcuts, and you'll be 100%.
Been down this road a few times with 3 of my GU's.

Re: My windscreen is leaking!
Hallo all
my apologies for the late reply. here some picture of the universal trim rubber fitted to my car.
the rubber looks like this and is one piece.
i see i will have to clean on the body side as there is a little dirt collecting. it is possible to get in with a brush.
at this stage i am happy with how it works and looks.
