Thys has a fix for the speedo . Wilfet one was done and works 100%mvcoller wrote: ↑07 May 2021 11:46 These are the guys you need to see if your speedo reads incorrectly. They fixed my old 4.2i GQ Rev counter that was totally wrong after fitting the Lexus V8 in place of the Petrol straight 6. They also corrected my old MPH speedo to indicate the correct KPH readings on the old (British Import) MPH speedo

Can bring them in from AUS for Under R18k. I have an H260 rear and C200 front end in the Sani, and was wondering if there is maybe a more "modern" alternative. Although the H260 has an amazing LSD, it is a bit old at 40 years, and it is a big lump of metal with that 10.5" crown wheel. I was hoping to find a H233 front and rear, but it does not seem these are available in 4.88. I just can't go higher as I am already struggling a bit with the 33" tyres which would work better with a 5.3? ratio.

Re: Diff Ratios
Those prices are just beyond me. I'll just live with the 4.88 H260 lump. I just need to replace all the bearings urgently. But nobody can tell me what bearings I need till its apart. I was hoping to get the spares before I strip.

Re: Diff Ratios
Nou: As jy trap, dan GAAN jy!
Ek sal hierdie "conversion" enige tyd aanbeveel.

Uit en uit die moeite werd! Ek het 4.3" ratios opgesit vir my 35s en dis 'n ander kar. Cruise control werk nou, jy het krag wanneer jy dit soek, great stuff

Re: Diff Ratios
Hi gents reviving an old thread.
I will be upgrading my tyres from 265/70 R17 to 285/70 R17 (Maxxis 811) as soon as stock arrives. How is your fuel consumption after changing the diff ratios to 4.1 driving normal speeds like 110km/h? Have you managed to fix the speedo difference.
Thanks
Rahul

Re: Diff Ratios
Speedo difference isn't a concern. I have 285/70 R17 fitted on my 4.8 Auto and the speedo shows 2kph over GPS true speed, which is pretty close and you have 2kph grace for speed traps

Re: Diff Ratios
Hi Spike
Thanks for your input, I was referring to Wilfred post, where his speedo was out by 20km/h after changing his diffs.
Very happy, totally a new vehicle. I found that my speedo is now out by 20Km/h on 120, it now reads 140. Did you experience the same? I have 33" tyres. My Patrol is a 2010, 4.8 GRX
Regards

Re: Diff Ratios
Hi Rahul
was planning to change to 4.1 before my trip to Kaoko, but run out of time. I now have 35s, and will at least have a good record of actual consumption in different terrains before the ratio upgarde. So far, city driving has been giving me approx 4.3 km/l on the 35s. Will keep you posted.
