When the planning started to attend the Patrol 70th anniversary at Goerapan, I initially wanted to include a tour of southern Namibia, alternatively Kgalagadi whilst in the area. Well, that did not work out as planned... Mom decided that while I am going hin-hin in the dust, she will make use of the opportunity to stay at a friends place in Hartenbos that was made available for us, so I made the best of both worlds, hin-hin in the dust, travel through the Karoo which I love and spending time at the coast.

My route went as follows:
- Centurion to Bloemfontein:
- Bloemfontein to Goerapan via Kimberley
- Goerapan to Hartenbos via Upington, Keimoes, Kenhardt, Williston, Fraserburg, Leeu-Gamka, Prince Albert and Oudtshoorn
Whilst in Hartenbos I was requested by a client to attend to a matter in Pietermartizburg. So I accompanied the wife to Bloemfontein and from there to Pietermartizburg and then back home.
