Thx hugejp, will give David a call.
No Peter, for the main purpous of the vehicle, which is overlanding, I won’t be towing anything. I occasionally haul heavy stuff around with a trailer, but its pretty seldom and not very far.

Just spoke to a guy at Lombard tyres, seems like there is zero stock of the Kumho MT51s.
Wrt Maxxis, which ones would you recommend. The Razr and Bighorn764 look good. Any thoughts? They do look like they could be quite noisy on the highway. I remember driving a Cruiser with Bighorns on and they were pretty noisy. I guess I can alway up the volume in the radio if its too much

Yeah I had Maxxi Bighorns on mine a few years back.... very noisy even with a 4.2 diesel and a 3" straight through exhaust after they have worn a bit

Pity about no stock of the Kumho MT51's .. underrated tyre in my opinion.

Anthony Forgey has been trying out the Maxxis Razr all terrains. He works them hard and so far is pretty impressed. Check it out here:

Speak to Tinus Lotz, he might be able to get you a good deal if they have stock.
Cheers, Gareth

These are the CST Sahara AT - basically a re-branded maxxis tyre for certain markets. Slightly cheaper than the Maxxis Razr. I've only had them on for 2 months though so not much to report on yet other than they are fairly quiet. These are 285/75/16.

The Maxxis Razr looks great and all reviews are very positive as well. Who supplies the CST tyres, also Maxxis or where are they available?

Cheng Shin Tyre owns the Maxxis and CST brands, as per wikipedia
The CSTs are available from Maxxis SA

If you're considering them, Tinus Lotz is the definitely man to get hold of in this regard - oh eight 3 two 9 seven eight oh 1 3
He will contact the Maxxis guys, who will then get hold of you to arrange delivery of your tyres to a fitment shop close to you - i got prices for Maxxis AT811 Razrs, Maxxis AT980 Bravos, and CST AT II Saharas
The fitment shop will then additionally charge for fitment, balancing and alignment, but the cost of the tyre will be as per your arrangement with Maxxis, and its one payment to the fitment centre
This has been my experience, I'm currently going through the process

[edit] process complete 7 May - as described
