Quick question: if I take the pipe off the radiator to drain the extra old fluid will the system self bleed out any air that is in there when I refill ?

Yes and no

Let it idle with radiator cap of for about 10 min and keep filling as water level drop, once it starts to raise and overflow you close the radiator with radiator cap and immediately take the vehivle for a 10 km drive. Leave till cool at air temp, open radiator cap and fill radiator till full, close radiator cap and that should be it, make sure overflow resourvour is full till full mark.

Apologies I should have specified that I was asking about the gearbox fluid cooling system not the engine cooling system. All sorted though thanks

A sad day today as we said goodbye to our much loved patrol. A few unfortunate circumstances brought about by dear old COVID forced our hand. But we are confident that it's gone to a new owner who will hopefully love it and look after it as much as we did. Best 4x4 we have ever owned and I can say that with total honesty. Hopefully there is another one in store for us in the near future.

Thanks chaps  a minor setback which will be resolved as soon as possible, nothing to get hung up on. I'll be lurking around waiting for the next patrol to come around at the right time, I can already see myself in a lekker turboed GQ :woo:
