So I bought this 1998 Pateol 4.5 GL from Petri at end of 2019 after really begging him. On the condition that he will buy it back if I am not happy. So I had it for a month or three but was not sure if it was really the right vehicle for me. So I called Petri and asked him if he wants it back because he really liked the vehicle. True to his word he took it back and refunded me in full.
He then sold it to a guy who wanted it for a specific trip but with Covid it didn’t come off. So he traded it back at Petri for a car. In the mean time I was having seller’s remorse and when I saw it was back at Petri I immediately bought it back.
That is when the fun started and the build began. My son is a mechanic (at Toyota!) and he loves the Patrol.
First thing fitted was a Lockrite auto front locker. Completely transformed the Patrol off road. Best money you can spend. Then fitted Stofpad rocksliders, bashplates, Mellville and Moon seat covers, snorkel, roof rack with side awning, Howling Moon roof top tent, TPMS, VHF, bull bar, modified rear door for better opening, fitted 285/75 x 16 Cooper muds, got the rear door inner table from Tinus and did all sorts of small odds and ends. The Patrol is now well equipped and a very nice off road and general use 4x4.
