2005 Y61 tb48 auto smoking
Hi all am in need of some advice
On cold start up I am getting a little white smoke which cleares after a 30 seconds or so , I figure this is normal. If I go for a long drive then switch engine off for a few hours then on start up lots of white an black smoke but again cleares after 30 seconds or so. This doesn't happen all the time though, any ideas?
Thanks in advance

My 4.8 also bellows out white smoke on a cold morning, but not so much in summer. Don't think its a problem

Re: 2005 Y61 tb48 auto smoking
After doing some research am suspecting an injector gets stuck open or possibly leaking every now and again when motor off so leaks into intake manifold so when starting sometimes getting thick white and black smoke , usually happens after a long drive when I start the car again a few hours . When I bought the vehicle I changed the fuel filter and was badly clogged with dirt so wandering if injectors are in need of cleaning.

My 2007 4,8 does the same thing in winter in East London - chatted to Tinus and said it was the automatic choke.

Mine does the same, has done so for years. Different oils have helped a bit, at this stage I am not concerned. For me, it is just a small bit of white smoke which clear up after a little bit of time.

Is it using a measurable amount of oil?
If not, why not just install a catch can?
