Staring at it lovingly. Thinking to myself that fuel is dropping by almost R2 and I can’t go anywhere

Drawer system and finishing the roof rack refurbishment. But doing quarantine with a grandchild who likes my attention is making it a slow process. Luckily I have 21 days for it
Got several other smaller projects that depend on whether or not I have the groceries in the garage. It was chaotic trying to do all my last minute hardware shopping.

Craig,

I mounted mine on two drawer sliders under my roof rack. I did have to raise the rack by about 25mm. When pushed in under the rack, it is completely invisible. It can only be pulled out to "work" when parked though. I can take some pictures tomorrow.

This is what I've been doing the last two weeks....

I had some "Clear Vu" material left from a previous project, so I used that on a 22 x 22mm sq tube frame, hinged on a 25 x 25mm x 1.6mm angle outer frame. This enables me to open it from the inside. The barrel bolts (From 4X4 Direct) is set up to self lact when I close the grid.

I manage to get it powder coated last week Monday and fitted it on Tuesday.

I am moving most of the electrical stuff from the underside of the shelf onto the grid, to make it more visible and accessible. So far I have only moved the DC to DC charger and the USB multi-plug charger. I still have to see what else I want on the outside of the grid. I will also mount some stuff on the inside of the grid, there is a 50mm space between the shelf and the grid.

But I have hit a snag, with the buggering around I have popped the two 30a (green) bigger blade type fuses on the WRND charger, I only have 25a (yellow) fuses at home. I tried them, and discovered that the warning on the WRND to only use 30A fuses is there for a reason, the 25a fuses pop about 10 seconds after the charger starts charging, after I start the vehicle.

With the current shutdown, I would imagine it would be impossible to find an open Spares Shop here in Kensington or Malvern East to get some 30a fuses..... I will try the little PnP shop at the BP Filling station on Broadway when I go and buy fresh bread on Monday, they have a few shelves of emergency spares, like fuses, radiator caps brake fluid and the like. That is if they have not cordoned that shelf off like they did at the Bedford PnP. All their hardware, wine, kitchenware and clothing shelves are cordoned off with red and white bunting/emergency type tape.....

I have started on designing a front bumper over the last 3 days and is almost finished with it.Then i will start on a drawer system design that will probably keep me busy for the next 3 weeks. And hopefully when this lockdown is finished i can get the last of my gullwing parts back from the laser cutters and start assembling them and get them fitted.

Will be putting it on the ramps for a proper clean after the last trip.

Making a list for Ant on what he still needs to do regarding some electrics :oldtimer:

Other than that I don't think that their is much more I can do on mine....

I think I am finally happy with my set up....
