An update - no luck in hearing from or getting hold of Onca.

The following pictures are from Charles at Lynx 4x4 accessories, and the work he has done on the Patrol. He is in the Alberton area.

Apparently they have made modifications to the rear bumper to make it one solid bumper, as opposed to fiberglass side moulds as can be seen in the picture.

You can also find more of his work at the following link: http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/sho ... hp?t=35062

Looks like really nice quality work; i was recommended to him through Hanko.

The price: R9000 including fitment, without spare wheel carrier. Spare wheel carrier about R2500 each. So all in all works out to about the same number as Burnco.

There's the convenience side of it being in Alberton with regards to fitment. Cosmetics wise, I kind of prefer the heavy-duty look of Burnco, although I must say that Charles's work looks of very high quality. Burnco obviously tried and tested down in the Cape. Charles also has bash plate / rocksliders for the Patrol.

Surely we can get a "group" discount if there is more than say 2 or 3 of us? Maybe we should have a poll, pool our resources, and then make an order??

Very impressive, Will this also fit on the 2006 and up Patrols? Would he, Lynx, ship down to PE? Would like a bumper and double weel carriers.

Kom nou manne, hou op k@k & kerm kry julle act together!

Julle sal nie spyt wees nie.
The Patrol rear bumper is my second Burnco one (1st one is on my previous vehicle, a Hilux D4-D) and I am still impressed by the solid structure and build quality.
The integrated towbar makes towing an absolute pleasure!

So lyk hy:

Re: Onca rear bumper

Post by davejones »

Hi guys

Okay, so to throw a spanner in the works, Len from Onca (Edenvale) contacted me at about 5pm today, if there is 3 or 4 of us he'll do us a deal.

He did a rear bumper and double wheel carrier with a Patrol about 5 years ago and is going to send me some pictures and a quote tomorrow.

As soon as I receive the pictures, for the guys on the reef and surrounding areas (and our lone member down in PE!) I'll post a comparison. As i said to Len, if I was in Capetown I would already have a Burnco bumper, but if their price is right, Onca's reputation is a big motivator for me.

Cheers

David
