Re: 1998 4500 GRX For Sale
Petri, I responded to this on 4x4 community. The panel on the right should be able to pull out like a fridge slide. The panel on yours is currently on the left hand side.
The locking mechanism is the left hand drawer.

Re: 1998 4500 GRX For Sale
I have the same drawers as you Petri. Standing at the back of the Patrol facing the drawers, my left hand top is my fridge slide, which works for me as I prefer my fridge on the small door side.
I am currently driving around with my left hand drawer in my boot as I want to cut it down by 200 mm to allow for my battery to sit behind the drawer with fridge slide closing it off from view. The whole structure and framework is like a mechano set, so drawers and tops can be swapped around. So if yours is backwards, then mine is backwards, and it's been like that for nearly 9 years that I've had my Patrol. So maybe his drawers are backwards.....hahaha

Re: 1998 4500 GRX For Sale
ricster yes, the Trol has a second battery in a box at the rear, I honestly didn't even check it out.
Will see whats what when I get it, hopefully over the weekend - running around, no time to go fetch it.
But yes, I'll need to ask this Baby to do some jobs for me within the next 10 days...…….must deliver an old Series 3 Pickup in Mooirivier, and also a Series 3 88' in Paarl - the Mooirivier one will have to be by trailer, I'll carrier down the 88 inch.
There's also a Hilux 2,4 Diesel 4x4 that needs to get to Ermelo, Police Clearance issue.
