It wasn't an article, it was a collection of search engine response links. Google "Patrol M57 conversion" and you'll get the same hits, including the links to the guys selling the kits.

R100k is not small change. Surely a TD42 isn't more than R35k these days?

Bloody hell, the prices have gone thru the roof!
The TD42 was R21k in 2011. R60k is insanity for an old school indirect injection diesel.

Then the M57 makes sense.

If you re doing the interior start of by taking out everything inside and then Dynemat the entire floor and fire wall, it makes a huge difference heat and sound.

If you like your music then also Dynamat the four door - speak to ANT he knows his business!

I had the four doors also re upholstered with plether instead of carpet and they clean so much easier.

Seat covers - speak to Ian T his guy makes a good set for a good price.

When I built my TD42 up 8-9 years ago, I used TD27 pistons ( had "oil irrigation" ) with Alfin rings. Seem to be working great concidering I've done 150 000 Km on them so far, and I'm not a lazy driver at times
