Strap behind rear (middle) seats??
They say there is no such thing as a dumb question so .....what are these straps for?
Just been fixing a stuck seat and discovered the reason for being stuck was a piece of one of the straps stuck in the locking mechanism. So now I need to know if I must fix the damaged one or remove the undamaged one

Re: Strap behind rear (middle) seats??
You use them to secure the seats when they are folded forward. Strap goes around the "O-flip handvatsel" on the pillar behind the driver door.

Re: Strap behind rear (middle) seats??
On a side note, there is a pocket on the back of the bottom cushion of the seat to safely stow the straps when not in use.
This will prevent them from getting jammed in the locking mechanism...

Spike,
how did you manage to free the seat? I'm sitting with the same problem, but think the cable is broken?

Re: Strap behind rear (middle) seats??
I googled myself into a coma without any luck. Next step I looked at the latch on the other seat and figured out how it latches. You'll see the main obvious latch in the cavity but then above it there is another smaller latch that flips from side to side. I took a thinish flat screwdriver and stuck it in the other side and twisted until I managed to flip the latch. You can't see in the stuck latch so you must fumble around by feel. Stand by for a photo coming up

Re: Strap behind rear (middle) seats??
I'm sure that could also work. But I believe it's what the "O-griet handvatsel" is there for. Well, that as well as "O-griet" moments...
