Izak, a boom scooter is a machine with a little bit of string attached to one side of a very noisy little engine, you pull on it all day and eventually it might reward you with a little fart and splutter into life. It then turns a finger grinder/chopper chain like thing and if you managed to get it to start without the finger chopper chain like thing between your legs you can start making dust and debris whilst attacking a tree with it. If you're lucky it might even cut a branch after about 20min of swearing.
Rather let Tinus use his as he can weild that thing like king Arthur and Excalibur.

Re: 8-12 August River trip 2019
that boom scooter and Tinus is a sight to behold
Take what you would take for anny overlanding trip, recovery gear (tow strap, snatch strap, 2x shackle) high lift if you have one, but dont go and buy one.
Spade and recovery tracks but we again dont go and buy if you dont have, I cant remember if we have ever used recovery tracks... what we have used many a times is a pice of timber like a roof truss for low vehicles.
A nice toilet just is so much better than squatting but not a porta potty...........
If those with the long hair is going with they want to shower, a whole new problem in my eyes
Braai grid with stand and make sure you dont place it anywhere close to Cedric
A ketel for coffee otherwise you gonna be doing the walk (beggar route) to get some hot water - Mr Forgey can attest to this one and I have the photo to proof this
Medical kit if you have anny "condition" we are far from anny hospital so you have to be self reliant, we dont have anny medical person on the trip.
Normal puncture kit, should you be unlucky to get a flat....
Radio to listen to all the ..... people can talk.

Awesome. Have most, only need recovery kit. I’ll borrow someone’s hi-lift if needed.offroadbiker wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019 09:45 that boom scooter and Tinus is a sight to behold

Have the tracks, the medical kit and braaier and stuff. Have a portable shower and a frame for a quick curtain (Thanks Ian T for the cool roof rack). Have a porta potti and loo chair. Will take the chair.
Have the kettles, manual milk frother (the missus loves a cappuccino in the morning)
And will bribe Tinus for some wood
I’m set!
