Re: iNyathi did NOT make it. Sell scrap or revive ?
The thing with assumptions, they are most times WRONG.
I am being attacked from all sides of indicating Michael for being responsible for my cars breakdown.
Do I have a gripe with Micheal? YES I do, and I have taken it up with him. Thats the end of that .. [ it concerns him putting another head on my Patrol than the one he took off ]..
My complaint about incompetence is against the guy on the plot near Delmas [lets call him DV for now] that sat 6 months with my car for a simple GASKET replacement, then had me buy a head [from Heads for Africa as advised by Mr Lotz at the time]
If D V did the job right in the first instance I would not be sitting with an engine failure now.
I posted on FaceBook about this D V .. and Michael chose to attack me assuming I was referring to him... which I was not, and of which I replied to Michael immediately that i was not referring to him.
Let this be the end of it now .. Michael is not the enemy or the victim here, Neither am I .
IF I have implicated that Michael is incompetent, it was not the intention and for that I say Sorry.

Wow!
Usually I love my morning dose of Patrol forum while drinking my first coffee, but today... not so much.
Thank you Oom Mac for clearing that up, and also thanks to everyone who stood up for Michael (even though misunderstood), but can I please request we go back to being the nice bunch of okes just hanging out together and sharing knowledge?
Oom Mac, I am happy to hear that you have decided to repair iNyathi. It would have been a tragic loss if you decided to let him go. Keep us posted on the progress and if you need anything, just shout.

I agree, and thank you Oom Mac for responding.... Let us speak no more of this, but rather as we Patrollers always do.... Find out and watch as another TD42 beauty gets revived to live another day.
Oom mac ... please keep us posted on how the rebuild goes. There are not too many threads on this site showing how all the rebuilds go in detail.
I look forward to seeing your iNyathi on the trails again.

iNyathi is oppad huis toe
As soon as I have the report from the engineering shop that effected the repairs, I'll write up all the findings and solutions
For nos so long BIG Thank you to Tinus who bent backwards to help source some tough to find parts for iNyathi [he now is a true 4,2 Tdi [real Turbo ding]
Even bigger THANK YOU to Oom Dennis at Heritage Engineering who so meticulously rebuild that engine. That omie is a stickler for detail. iNyathi could not have been in better hands for this repair.
