So the last 2 days was a bit of a slow go due to some other stuff that had to be handled. But with some much needed help from Tjimen the motor is finally in its place. We had a bit of a struggle with a dell pin that needed removing but after that everything went smoothly.

Re: My 4.5 GU soon to be a 4.2 Diesel
Very nice!!
Something interesting thet myself and David Marais tested on our trip back from Botswana, is that the 3rd gear on the 4.5 gearbox is allot better in terms of spacing than the one in the 4.2D.
In the 4.2D you jave to rev it quite high in 3rd before going to 4rth (because of it being to short) where in the 4.5 it was just righ.

Re: My 4.5 GU soon to be a 4.2 Diesel
Since Saturday i was busy with some nitty gritty wiring problems that needed to be fixed in terms of alternator placement and so on.Had a problem with ignition that didn't want to shut of (turns out to be a sensor on the power steering pump of the 4.5 that needed to be earthed that is shorted now.The next hurdle was to make up some new alu tanks for the Radiator just to shift some pipes over to the other side. This is no easy task for me we had a hard time with setting up my new tig welder (too much of new technology for some one that was still used to some old technology so don't laugh even the best coded welder i know didn't understand this new stuff). The radiator is almost done and then the task is on to make some stainless water pipes.

Re: My 4.5 GU soon to be a 4.2 Diesel
So the last couple of days was a bit of a slow go but managed to get started on the new donaldson air box to get everything fitted the turbo side needed some surgery to get the pipe to face the way of the air box.So got the grinder out and started to cut up the pipe in some places.Welded it up and got some silicone pipe to do the rest.
