Re: My life with the New Patrol Y 62
Today I did some research on rims and tires
the standard 18 rims are 8j with an offset of 35
according to the Australian sites i should be able to fit 305/70/18 with a 9j rim
This size tire is a rarity in south africa expecially in AT
I did find a set of Mickey Thompson and once mounted on the standard rim they touch the upper arm on full lock
i must say it is very slight
18” 9 j with an off set of 10 should do the trick but you cant test fit them with a tire
Any help and advice is welcome

Re: My life with the New Patrol Y 62
Hi Maurizio,
Congratulations on your new ride!
I owned four GRX 4.8's over a period of 13 years of which the last one was supercharged. Without doubt the Y61 is the most amazing 4X4, and also one of the toughest vehicles, in its range (believe me, I did not nurse any of them - was rather recklessly mean on all of them)
BUT .. last year January I bought a Y62. So I understand your excitement. I have done two extreme dune driving trips with this monster (also known as a "hippo with a huge engine in its mouth") and it is as tough as the Y61 but just much more luxurious, spacious and powerful. I have fitted a Wild Earth rooftop tent and an Ostrich wing awning with no impact on power, noise or consumption. Recently added a snorkel.
The only downside is ground clearance (can't easily lift due to the hydraulic shocks) as well as the difficulty in fitting wider wheels and tires.
Please keep me posted on any success with your wheels-project.
Enjoy!!
