Spare tyre lock

Post by Oetie »

How do you secure your spare wheels?

I currently have the lock in the picture on, but can already see that it is going to frustrate the hell out of me....

Did not get the keys when I bought the car and was able to jimmie the lock quite easily.

I fitted a discus type lock on the hole to the right of your lock. Tight fit in the door bracket slot but fits quite nicely. Not completely fool proof ( what is) but you won't get a bolt cutter close to it. The shackle part is completely taken up by the rim and door bracket hole. put a piece of insulation tape over the key hole to prevent dust entering

Thanks Andries, that is a good idea. Will look at a high quality lock that will fit there.
