Thanks Peter. Now imagine this beauty with a set of the new BFG MT T/A KM2 that just arrived to my local shop here in Luanda! I've just been to the shop and these new tyres are awsome!!!

Based on some research I'd get something like 5,7cms in diameter, which is great for diff ground clearance. I must confess my diff's a bit dented...

The only "minor" problem is that these 5 new babies are going to cost me around USD 2.000!

If it helps I just fitted a set of KM2's 285/75/16 and really happy with them, look fantastic on the vehicle which now seems to be in better proportion.

I was also torn between AT's and M/T's but after speaking to a few people went the MT route due to the advantages of the MT's as my vehicle is mainly used for 4x4 trails and overland trips.

Noise has increased slightly on tar but turning up the radio helps  , I also noticed the speedo now reads accurately. Only draw back is I seem to now have to use a bit more throttle than before which is understandable going from 265's but am willing to live with it. From what I understand to get the best mileage out of a pair of KM2's the best approach is to do regular rotations of every 5,000km which will keep uneven tread wear and noise to a minimum, up to 80,000km but will have to wait and see.

Hi da PMC .. also what keeps your tyres rolling longer is the CORRECT pressure [there is a "too" on either end of the scale - too low = side wall damage & weakening; too high = tread deterioration [and 'chipping] Around 2,2 is what I would suggest - and down to 1,8 when you off the tar
Other may differ - but i will stick to my guns as I have done in access of 90 000 on 3 sets of tyres before these I have on my vehicle now. [and my normal pressure is 2-bar] must add, all were A/T's, though

Although I'm sure my Trol will look fantastic, I'm getting that familiar feeling that I'm being pushed into deciding something based on looks instead of proper use. Hell, I know it rains a lot here and I know roads here are a disgrace and Lord knows why I have a snorkel but the fact is that it doesn't rain half of the year and the climate here in Luanda is semi-desert like. Meaning that when it rains you don't drive, you sail (streets are flooded) but half of the year it's pretty much sand, gravel, rocks and bad tar. So I am in fact concerned with the performance of the MT's on extra dry terrain. :helpsign:

Very nice - just remember if you work uot your fuel consumption it will look worse but your odometer will read 4,4% less than previousely. To get a more accurate consumption you have to add 4,4% distance too your trip meter. :oldtimer:

Herrie, the circumference of the 285/75R16 is actually just more than 7% greater than that of the 265/70R16.
