Latest CAR magazine - SUV comparison

Post by David »

I have just received my latest copy and they gave the Patrol 3/5
Apparently it doesn't have enough electronic goodies.

Obviously All Toyotas got 4/5 even the 70 series LC

David, remember in SA ,Toyota are everything, we are the only country where the Fortuner are brilliant, the rest of the world its called the Rollux and a failure.
For the L/C 70 , it must be the worst build vehicle on the market , and for that matter the most overprised as well. Its got masonite inner doorpanels covered in vinyl, if you touch the elec. window control it feels like it wants to fall off. The back seat feel like a Ser 1 Landy.
But again Toyata guys say the vast majority cant be wrong, well nearly 70 % of the country votes ANC , it doesnt mean they are brilliant.

And for Nissan, the Patrol is where it is in SA because of them, just received 4 copies of the Sept issues of OZ camping magazines , you must see the double page Ads, in the mags just for the Patrol and Navara's, never never seen one in SA.No wonder PATROLS are so popular down under.

Yes, because the 70 series is overflowing with electronics....???

Guys, really, just have a look at the various comments by the editor on ALL the vehicles in the back of that mag, it is shocking that a magazine about cars can be put into the hands of people who know nothing about them. This guy hears stories and then prints it as fact, its out of control.

Aslo, its very clear how hard Toyota has rubbed itself against the editors of these magazines, there's no other way to explain the outrageous and blatant product pushing of this marque, with no conscience or factual findings.

A 2010 GU Patrol wagon is going to eat a 2010 70 wagon beyond recognition, regardless of that front difflock, oh, and thats before we start on interiors and "electronics" ,..... shocking write-up in my opinion. This guy should be publicly brought to book if he wants to contradict himself so brazenly over subjects that people follow so very closely.

But the LC 70 has absolutely no electronic goodies :surprised: !
And I doubt very much that it is better off-road than the Patrol, and the on-road comfort cannot be better!
I smell something fishy...

My earlier comment was also directed at the editor of Leisure Wheels,and,SA4x4, as they too make absolutely diabolical statements that contradict their own allegations.

The bottom line is that the position of editor in many magazines are appointed by merit, which is good and bad, good, because thats the way all business should be done (ie:best CV best job), but also bad, because the literature they editing my not be something they have any practical experience with, and it shows.

Is seker nog "old school" en wil voel hoe gaan hy in donkie gear in. Lyk my eerder die samelewing het almal knoppie bef%k geraak!
