Did you arc it across the battery. The previous owner of mine did that and I bought a new one.

No, the centre wire was snapped, and most of the braided stainless was also snapped. I decided to test the integrity of it and luckily broke it outside the vehicle. I have managed to find one at a stealership for R390 so I've ordered it.
