Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Wilfred I reckon that's a good price for what sounds like a great tank. Thanks for the info.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Thanks all
I will follow up each and everyone of the leads. Reckon I need additional fuel capacity for the Richtersveld.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Jorrie - re Richtersveldt: Fuel is readily availble in & around Richtersveldt [Port Nolloth; Alexanderbaai; Baken; SendelingsDrift [Reuning] .. and toe the other side Vioolsdrift [Noord Oewer BUT if you want to fill up at ther you MUST have your passport and vehicle papers with you coz the fuel pump is on Namibia side which means you must go through border post to get to fuel. and if you are just "vakansieganger" a tank full should be 'nuff [it's mee driving all over looking for goat herds that need extra fuel] - On a thirsty patrol ... maybe a 20litre jerry can should suffice. [and if you get stucj .. phone the oompie :-)

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Oom Mac

You can also try Silverton radiators in Krugersdorp. My car has long range tanks which I beleive were made by them. I am not sure though, as they were fitted by a previous owner.
Peter,
Yes we had a problem, but they wore excellent when it came to the repaire. I can recommend them.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Grant I am glad that you came right with them.
However I know that Dave Jones has had his tank there several times for repair, and it's still not right?

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
When mine cracked during our Kgalagadi trip and I removed it when I got back home I also noticed that it was build by Silverton. I had one of our aircraft welders fix all the cracks.
Afterwards one of the spotwelds on the buffer plate started leaking and I just put some Prattley Steel on it and it is still not leaking - more than a year!

Thanks. I understand that Lead Free petrol may be an issue in some places, e.g. Sendelingsrif, and I am not sure if Beast II can run on leaded fuel.
We will not be looking for goat herds though, just vankansiegangers with passports. I have thought about the 20lt jerry can and it looks like a good option.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
Jorrie, solank jy nie CAT in die exhaust het nie is enige petrol beskikbaar.

Re: Long Range Fuel Tank
