Michael, how much would it cost to build a td42 into this? With turbo & intercooler included? Close to R100k?
To be safe I think 100k would cover everything
En as mens die turbo/intercooler etc. uit laat...?

Hi, I have a 2005 3.lt diesel. It blew up on me and Frans Fourie in Cape town put in a TD42 using my old intercooler for R50,000. This was about two years ago.

Fanus, the problem is to get your hands on a TD42 engine for a good price. As many have seen they are getting scarce and expensive and if you can pick one up for less than 40k its a bargain.
On top of that, you need to pay for the labor of fitting the engine and moving the engine mounts on the chassies, madman of R4,700, a 3" exhaust (if you are going the bolt on turbo way) and all the other stuff you need along the way.
The problem is that I do not have NA engines and only build the turbo ones because I enjoy it and it then becomes expensive. I don't go the bolt on turbo route as the engine cannot run as it should without the proper internals.
Fitting a TD42 for 50k is a bargain....... but I do not think it is possible any more
