Rust de Winter 13-15 November 2020
So its the last outing for the year and after numerous requests we will be doing the mountain route again for this event.
A maximum of 15 vehicles is allowed on the mountain so it is on a first come/confirm basis.
The cost is R800 per vehicle, this includes camping at Rust de Winter on Friday night, Guided tour Saturday and Sunday including camping on the mountain Saturday night. Also included is Boerie rolls provided by RdW for Saturday lunch and pap & sous Saturday night.
There is also a day route for the Saturday for those that want to camp for the weekend, we need at least 10 vehicles for the day route and the cost would be - R100pp per night camping and R200 per vehicle for the guided day route on the Saturday.
Please rsvp to make the required arrangements.
Payments to book your spot will be due by mid October.

Okaaay that escalated quickly...... Not sure when we were supposed to put our names down?
Please put me on the waiting list if there are any cancellations on the mountain route.

Re: Rust de Winter 13-15 November 2020
This is the signature Forum year-end event.
Dirk is there any way one can accommodate more than that on the mountain?
Else the main event may still need to be at the base camp?

I will ask very nicely if there is any change of more vehicles, but it will be very few if any....

Re: Rust de Winter 13-15 November 2020
I was able to only get 2 more vehicles on the trip for the mountain route, that is the max they will allow for this trip.

Dirk
Can I suggest that for the purposes of the year-end function, we do not go to the mountain sleepover, but rather use the main ATV club camping grounds.
Over the last three years the year-end functions was well attended and the limitation of vehicles at the top is putting a damper on people attending.
I would rather like to suggest that we consider the mountain sleepover as a separate event during the year at RdW.

Re: Rust de Winter 13-15 November 2020
Taking into account the few times we were able to 4x4 this year, no river trip, the uncertainty around school times, holidays and exams, as well as the number of people that wanted a RdW mountain trip we need a proper 4x4 outing.Alex Roux wrote: ↑21 Sep 2020 15:14 Dirk

If there is a real need for a year end function, we can arrange that for the first week of December like we did for the last 3 years, as there is other places were we can camp for the weekend and do just a day trip ie Karee Krans, Serendipity and even Moegatle.
Do you want me to put on a poll to see what the feeling is, as nobody has contacted me around a year end function specifically.
