Hi there :blonde: :blonde:
Would like to make arrangements for accommodation for this trip to avoid disappointment.
I did send through the price lists via the Whatsapp group, so please go and check them there and get back to me with the following:

Drosky cabins - Camping or chalet
Audi camp (2 nights) - Camping or units/tents
Number of people for booking

We would like to book, they will then require the deposits or full payment, but I will confirm on booking date.
Please come back to me asap, final date to advise will be 3rd December, thereafter I am going ahead with booking camping for everyone.

Furthermore, please confirm that you are still in for this trip, once accommodation is booked, you will either use it or loose it.

Thanks
Vanessa

Yo Graham, Tommie, e.a:
Things at Seronga has changed some .. Speak to me or Freddie to make arrangements for Seronga plse. [Assuming you iontend to sleep over at the Mission Station again ? ]

Not sure of "Wild Camp" before Seronga, but 78 Km is the distance from Ghudikwa to Seronga [Ghudikwa is Bushman Village] - that means you have to cross Silinda Spillway before dark between Khwai and said "wild camp" .. Taking 8 vehicles through the spillway may require some hours [depending on water level]
Oompie suggest you move "wild camp" to "Olifantspan" [38 km BEFORE the Silinda Spillway] That should give you daylight early morning to cross the Spillway. Then from Beetsha it is just 56 Km hard road to Seronga [Beetsha is the villagae after you pass Ghudikwa
If you can, refrain from taking drinking water before Seronga village [BRAK water by die ander dorpies]
BEST quality water that area is Ngarange [80 Km from Seronga]

Maar bel my vir navrae .. Was laasweek daar.

This is great trip to see Botswana at it most natural and exciting.

Elke nuwe plek was 'n verrassing!

In Maun is 'n Spar, Riley's Garagewinkel, Choppies ens.

As iemand my asseblief kan vertel hoe ek nou weer foto's hier kan plaas sal ek 'n paar plaas, die skakel blokkie hierbo wil nie my foto's gaan haal nie.

Groete
Ria Pieterse (was saam met Ossewa)

The Botswana Trip with Tommy and Mari Watkins, Corrie and Nita Pretorius, Alex Roux, Tony Barone, his son Nick and a friend Lesley and Graham Cummings were quite an adventure. Every trip is a challenge, you have to take what you get and make the best of it. You are in nature and appreciate what you get or stay in comfort rather at home. Botswana's bush camps do not have fences, so be prepared for elephants, hyenas, hippos and lions that can visit you at night. We, my husband and I, were in the Southern Kalahari part of Botswana in sand and dust last year in April, with lions visiting us in the mornings and nights passing our tents, while the Patrol Botswana Trip just ended in mud and problems in the north, the contrast was incredible, as it was in one country.

The forum trips are enjoyable because it respects your family too to go with. I found that most of the guys and girls on the forum and forum trips are family-loyal people who respect God and to respect His Almighty in our lives and nature.

Botswana trip April 2019, was full of dusty roads, we couldn't believe a Patrol group got stuck in the mud the previous year because we did get places with smelly mud puddles and furthermore thick sand full of sharp wood protrusions, some tyres felt it and damage. there were no roads in some places, and our road-experts, Nick and Lesley or Graham, searched for the route. Tommie and Mari (Stoftrappers) 's leadership was excellent, he took us to places not even indicated on the maps. The first water we got was low, but compensated for the amount of dust on the highway. Every new place was a surprise!

First, before you think of going to Botswana, keep in mind that it is no longer such an African country, there are shops in business centers in the major cities. We got in Maun, grocery stores and butcheries, clean and tidy, you don't have to drive your own grocery store and freezer full of meats there.

The food supply may be slightly more expensive than in South Africa, but you can buy EVERYTHING there.

In Maun is a Spar, Riley's Garage Shop, Choppies etc. There are also restaurants to choose from and select. Do your homework before you go.

Botswana and Namibia prohibit any raw meat and dairy products, fruit and some vegetables from South Africa.

At the Border Post they can confiscate it from you, as well as in Botswana we got "VET fences" where they sometimes look what you carried in your fridge or freezer. They took Tommy's open box of milk! Probably very thirsty or need some milk with their coffee!

Take plenty of fresh drinking water and self-care waterfor dishes and showering, if you go to remote areas, Wetwipes is a good replacement if there is no water nearby, you can buy bottled water if you can find it in garage or other shops.

Supply enough stock in large cities for at least 7-10 days.

Most importantly, those Jerry cans with petrol or diesel, not all petrol garages have stock. NEVER pass a garage without filling up.

Buy some Botswana's Eco Boelie Beef in cans, there is regular and Chilli flavour .. ..you don't get a better quality canned meat anywhere.

Ask our Patrol Mechanic Graham to tell you how a Patrol's microwave /warm oven works, we've tried it and it works great, we reheat all our pre-cooked meals ion the road. Cooked pies, jaffles, cooked chicken servings, meatballs, viennas, last night's braai meat, wrap everything in foil and heat it in the oven. An instant hot meal along the road, no dishes!

If anyone can tell me how to share pictures here again, I'll post a few, the link box above doesn't want to fetch my photos.

Regards
