Would like to make this as fair and democratic as possible, as that is what makes this forum so great and is one of the reasons we are growing as a Forum

Also please let everybody know as not everybody visits the forum on a regular basis and I unfortunately do not have everybody's contact details.

So I have been asked to start the planning for 2018.
The decision was taken that we would focus on the “bigger” outings and day trips will be arranged as and when the need arises.
When it comes to even the “bigger” outings it seems that we have more than we can accommodate in a year.
To make this an open and fair decision I have included a poll in the first post where we can vote on the outings that has become sort of Patrol Forum institutions.

Dates for 2018

21 Maart, Woensdag – Public Holiday This can be turned into 5 days with 2 days of leave

30 Maart, Frydag – Public Holiday Easter weekend, thus 4 days with 0 days of leave
02 April, Maandag – Public Holiday

27 April, Frydag – Public Holiday This can be turned into 5 days with 1 day of leave
30 April, Maandag – School holiday Kids don’t miss any school
01 May, Dinsdag – Public Holiday

09 Aug, Donderdag – Public Holiday This can be turned into 4 days with 1 day of leave
10 Aug, Frydag – School Holiday Kids don’t miss any school

24 Sep, Maandag – Public Holiday This can be turned into 3 days with 0 days of leave

29 Maart – 09 April – School Holiday
23 Junie – 16 Julie – School Holiday
29 Sep – 08 Oct – School Holiday
12 Dec – Jan – School Holiday

It is not necessarily required that we only utilise long weekends for the outings, however it does assist with leave arrangements, especially for the longer outings.

Outings that has been "pencilled" in with the possible date's

08 - 13 August 2018 - River trip - 5 days required so 2 days of leave 10 Aug and then either 08 or 13 Aug Tinus = Kamp kommedant

20-26 September 2018 - Dunes trip - 5 days required so 2 days of leave, either 20,21 Sep or 25,26 Sep Tommie = Kamp Kommedant

18-20 May 2018 - Moegatle - From this years outing it was decided that May would be a better time in relation to the weather, and secondly if the attendance is as prevalent as the previous 2 years we should consider NOT inviting a visiting club due to the number of attendees. Dirk = Kamp Kommedant

23-25 November 2018 / 30 Nov - 2 Dec 2018 - Rust de Winter This has turned into an annual event for a couple of years now and the thought was to not only make this the last event of the year but also make it the year end "function" for the forum.

Arrangements would be as follow, This will be a weekend event as always, the first 15 vehicles will do the RdW trail (shortened version) we camp for the weekend at the RdW camp terrain which can accommodate all that want to camp for the weekend.
Saturday we do the trail returning to the main camp (IF the group is bigger than 15).

Sunday is the "official" year end braai so if there is members that just want to join for the day they can come and braai and also play in the RDW 4x4 play park across the road. This is tentative and open for discussion, but we need to book way in advance so would like to get as much input as possible. Group effort

These trips are not a given and will be dependant on the vote's cast!!!!

Juice has volunteered to do a trip to BOTS Pans- timing around 27 April to 1 May 2018 or later in August. Kubu Island and then onto Kukonje, guaranteed to be fun and involve some mud and recovery experience. Juice = Kamp Kommedant

Baboons pass = if enough votes a date will be looked at Alex Roux = Kamp Kommedant

Swaziland trip David Volschenk = Kamp Kommedant

So only one other suggestion......

I for instance cant vote River trip, as I will be in Bots over that period so even though I love the river trip does not help I vote toward something I can not attend.... as an example
