Re: Patrol versus cruiser dag.....
Last night's meeting was nice to know the Cruiser guys. They really are just looking for a nice fun day where the Patrol and Cruiser guy's can just get to know each other better.
I think the main focus of the day should not be towards determaning which vehicle is better.
Obviously we will have to do some challanges.....
1. I like the flex ramp idea
2. Idle test will also be fun I think
3. Pulling a string of cars was not as successfull at the rally day we had, not sure how we can make this a better test.
4. I dont think a fally stage will work here
5. Turning circle test will be interesting as well.
I think it was mentioned at the meeting that the one Cruiser representative was registered on our forum, maybe he can give aome input from their side?

Michael, are these just Patrol suggestions so far? I am sure the Cruiserr guys can think of a few too.Michael wrote: I think the main focus of the day should not be towards determaning which vehicle is better.

The "idle up" is in my view a little artificial, if electronics and other gimmics make you do them rather than the engine's natural low end torque. You can also play with your idle valve control to get more out without stepping on the peddle. There are other ways to achieve that too.
I think we can add specified obstacles that test specific things, such as an axle twister. We can ask Alex Fullard at Moegatle to pick specific obstacles that he thinks can do that for us.
As long as do not do the "red-neck" thing, and tie the back of a Patrol to the back of a Cruiser, and see who can pull who away, until something breaks.
Should we not give a mgazine the opportunity to observe.
They are always in search of material.
