The now new love of my life, Alta ... is willing to go the extra mile to ensure if I email her a copy of the forms Lianna filled in ( seeing as Mr Arri Gant refused point blank ... and it was even a battle to get a photo copy of the document), she will see what she can do for me to push the process forward.
No friggen wonder!!!
Of our three children, the one without the unabridged, having waited not for more than 5 months, was born in 2003.

So if no data, they just sit on the blooming applications and do nothing, cause they do not know what to do?....Until you get hold of good old Alta.
She is going to get busy tomorrow.
I need to get hold of this Alta lady and do the whale sounds thing for Marietjie.

Alex,
I tried twice , but the system was not operational , and with my work and my wife working for at a law firm , getting both of us to a working home affairs office together is proving problematic. Better chance of getting pregnant without a bridge.

Boegyman...... ons gaan leeeeeeeeeeeeker kuier !!!! QQQ QQQ QQQ QQQ

Dirk.... I'll hold thumbs brother !!!!

Alex, I would suggest going to Home Affairs and filling out those 2 forms. Then phone the 0800 60 11 90 and explain to the person that you speak to and she will give you a number of someone. I don't know if Alta handles all areas or if she just does Alberton. I've also gone and left all the info I have at home this morning....... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: , so I can't even give you the number..... and I phoned from my land line and not my cell either

Just ot check

Do we know for certian whether the unabridged is necessary, even if both parents travel with the child, and the child has his own passport and normal birth certifcate?
If so, and if all else fails, we will need to be both parents at the HA office to apply for the letter stating that we did apply for the thing.

From what I understand, but like Dirk has mentioned, it seems to vary from office to office....   .... for us, it is like the application process for the unabridged, only one parent needed to be there. She did have certified copies of both our ID's and certified copy of original Birth Certificate..... but they didn't want to give us the letter saying that the letter was only valid for the December period. Its all a mish mash it seems so it would be better to try both be there. Maybe an affidavit stating that the one parent cannot be there due to "whatever reasons" ( read - use lots of imagination ), then a letter also certified by the police written by the " absent " parent stating that you give full permission to the other parent to apply for the Illusive Authorization Letter, or what ever document is required.
