Can you please add me to the list. I would also like to know from you guys what your radion frequancy preference will be on this trip. 27mhz or 29mhz.
thanx.
Done

With such a large group it is very difficult to get everyone on "any" frequency as some people have 29mhz, some has VHF and some don't have radio's at all, what we try and do is to get the first vehicle and the last vehicle to have VHF which has the best range.

Due to the fact that we are in a river bed which is lower than the surroundings and lots of bends radio contact is a bit difficult especially for the 29mhz as they don't like it if there is no line of sight.

There is also limited cell signal, but if you walk up the bank of the river the chance is good of getting signal.

Hi Dirk,

would you still have space for another car for the river trip in August?

Cheers,

Yep, we seem to be heading for an Epic Patrol get together so the motto is now the more the merrier :woo:

Look as long as the first vehicle departs at 08h00 in the morning and the last one at 09h00 we can spread the group quite easily, it is also not a narrow river so one can pass some vehicles on the way very easily.

Also some of us tend to play like little kids in the water while other's prefer to keep dry so they pass us and then we catch up again somewhere down the line.

As for the bit more "serious" obstacles encountered in the last two years it was the -other- vehicles that slowed things down the patrols just take everything in its stride and keeps going :blonde:

Can I add you to the list????????????

My abstract for the BlackHat conference was submitted today. If my abstract is not accepted, I don't need to go to the US in August. In which case, I'll probably sign up... :)

Hope your "abstract" is successful for your trip to Vegas, but if not the river trip with us will have to do!

I've spoken at Defcon and BlackHat Arsenal previously. I would personally like to speak at BlackHat USA simply to check that box, and that means I'd like my abstract to be accepted, but deep, deep, deep down inside I am hoping it isn't.

I've been in Vegas for two weeks every year for the last six or seven years. I was tired of Vegas after my first trip there. I think the river trip would be a lot more fun. :)

Are you going to republish the list?
I agree the more the merrier, but we will need to draw the line somewhere?
